About

Run for a Reason is a nonprofit event dedicated to raising critical funds for cancer research, treatment, and support. This event is held in memory of Abby Sauer, a remarkable woman whose legacy of service, strength, and compassion continues to inspire. Abby was a dedicated advocate for health, fitness, and community unity; she was a veteran who bravely served as a medic in Iraq, the Dodge County Public Health Officer who led her community through the

challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and was a dedicated nurse pursuing her master’s degree. She was also an accomplished athlete who ran marathons, completed a half Ironman among other triathlons, and organized races to benefit causes close to her heart, including the American Legion and Dodge County Public Health. Through her unwavering commitment to helping others, Abby touched countless lives, making a lasting impact on her community. Run for a Reason honors her passion and dedication, ensuring that her legacy of service and support continues to change lives.

Race Route

The race will start ahead of Theresa Lane and will end at Theresa Fireman's Park. The race route will take you down to Milwaukee Street and across the bridge, going over the Rock River. The route will then take you out to the countryside following the Rock River west towards Mayville. Then you will loop back to The Theresa Fireman's Park, where the race will end.

Race Parking

Parking is limited and will be on a first come basis. Registration and check ins will be located outside of the pavilion on the East side of the park. There is parking on the side of the pavilion but will fill up fast. There is also parking on the west side of the park by the baseball field and playground. The recommended parking spaces are higlighted blue on the picture of the Theresa Fireman's Park.

Baggin' For A Cure is a nonprofit organization in Mayville Wisconsin, dedicated to raising awareness and fund for people in the community battling cancer.

Spierings Cancer Foundation

The Spierings Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Little Chute, Wisconsin, dedicated to supporting local families affected by cancer, enhancing medical care for cancer patients in the Fox Cities, and funding cancer research within the state.

Families of Children with Cancer

Families of Children With Cancer is a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to supporting families in Northeastern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan who have a child diagnosed with cancer. Operating entirely on donations they receive no federal or state funding, ensuring that 100% of every donation directly benefits the families they assist.

Tricia's Troops

Tricia's Troops Cancer Connection is a nonprofit organization based in Delafield, Wisconsin, dedicated to providing practical assistance and compassionate support to individuals in southeast Wisconsin who are navigating the challenges of cancer.

100% of proceeds will go to non-profit cancer organizations throughout Wisconsin.
